Nigeria at this point seems to be on the brink of collapse. Our economy has never been this terrible before. But with all that is going on in the country, what is Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State saying?
He is appealing to all Nigerians to have faith in the Buhari administration. He also said the President will not let us down. “In President Muhammadu Buhari, the country has the right leader who has the commitment, determination and selflessness to get it out of the economic dire straits it is navigating,” he said.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari reminds Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari had once served as the military head of state of this great nation and that the president did his job well. He also reminds Nigerians of the fact that at the time the president was the military Head of State the nation was also at the brink of disaster, but the ever capable Head of State handled the situation quiet wonderfully. , “President Muhammadu Buhari is not new on this job, nor is the challenge new to him. In 1983, when the country was tottering on the brink of collapse he came in and salvaged the situation.
“That passion and burning desire to serve selflessly are still in him. These are evident in the manner he is handling the economy and the security challenges confronting the country,’’ the governor said.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari further said it was God who brought President Buhari and perhaps for a time like this. He said, “God has brought him again to do that which he successfully did all those years back when economic and security challenges had all but brought the country down on its knees, and I am confident that he will do it if we give him the support and cooperation he requires. He needs our prayers too.”
. The governor therefore urges Nigerians to pray for the Federal Government as he says there is nothing committed leadership and prayers cannot do as he claims we already have committed leadership.
All these he said shortly after the Eid-el-Kabir prayer in Katsina. He enjoins Nigerians to learn from the prayer and live in peace with one another.
The Speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly, Mallam Umar Imman, said it is quite evident that Nigerians are under much pressure at the moment but that they should exercise patience and endure with the Federal Government as efforts are being made and that there are evidences that they are working tirelessly to bring Nigeria back to standing on her own two feet. He said, “No doubt, times are hard, but it is not the creation of the government. However, there are evidences that they are working tirelessly to fix it and with time, everyone will smile.
