Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, John D. Podesta, has been experiencing email hacking for a while now and about a thousand of the hacked emails have been released on WikiLeaks.
John made his first remark since the hacking began on Tuesday and he said the Russian intelligence officials are trying to sway the election in favor of Donald Trump.
“I’ve been involved in politics for nearly five decades, this is definitely the first campaign that I’ve been involved with in which I’ve had to tangle with Russian intelligence agencies, who seem to be doing everything that they can on behalf of our opponent,” John told reporters aboard the Clinton campaign plane.
Mr. Podesta as well as the Obama administration believes the Russian government is trying to help Donald Trump win the election with its hacking, including the theft of emails of the Democratic National Committee this year.
John said Hillary’s opponent, Donald Trump has “essentially adopted lock, stock and barrel” a policy which will be in the favor of President Vladimir V. Putin.
John also went further to say the WikiLeaks website released the first batch of his emails purposely on Friday afternoon to distract the populace from Donald Trump’s lewd comments in the leaked 2005 recording.
“It wasn’t any coincidence, I think, that within minutes of the ‘Access Hollywood’ tape coming out, they decided that this was their counter-move,” John said.
