Al shabaab an terrorist group base in east Africa have taken over a very important city in Somalia just after the peace keeper from Ethiopia withdraw from the city.
This is the third town taken over by the insurgent this month according to a local official.
On Sunday, an Ethiopian contingent abandoned the town of Halgan in the Hiran region, allowing the group’s fighters to enter soon after, said Abdiasis Abu Musab, al-Shabaab’s spokesman on military operations.
The Ethiopian troop is saddened with the responsibility of checking the terrorist group.The Ethiopian troops were stationed there by the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) to combat the effect of this group.
The terrorist group have since taken captivity of the town and subjected resident to hardship.
Al-Shabab was pushed out of Mogadishu by the African Union peacekeeping force AMISOM in 2011 but has remained a potent threat in Somalia, launching frequent attacks aimed at overthrowing the Western-backed government.
Series of attacked have been linked to the terrorist group among st them are the killing of ten soldiers at military base near Mogadishu,the attacked on beach restaurant in Mogadishu and other related attacked.In January, its fighters stormed another restaurant on Lido beach, killing 17 people.
