Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho may be given a touchline ban for using abusive language towards referee Mark Clattenburg.
The Portuguese manager was left furious after he felt that Matteo Darmian should have been awarded a penalty in United’s 0-0 draw at home to Burnley and was eventually sent to the stands for his protests.
It is understood that the Manchester United boss used abusive language towards the referee and may face a touchline ban if charged with any offence.
Should Mourinho accept a charge, he is likely to be given a one-match touchline ban and should Mourinho deny a charge but be found guilty, he is likely to be given a two-match ban from the touchline.
Mourinho is likely to find out on Monday or Tuesday whether he will be charged with any wrongdoing.
